This is to announce that Suprema will discontinue the BioStar 2 software platform according to the schedule outlined below. This End-of-Life (EOL) process affects all BioStar 2 software features, including access control, time & attendance and associated BioStar 2 server components and other features. BioStar 2 is being replaced by BioStar X, a modern and extensible security platform that preserves core capabilities while providing improved security, enhanced performance, and long-term scalability.


BioStar 2 will continue to operate normally until the dates listed below. Effective on the End of Sale date, new BioStar 2 licenses will no longer be sold (except upon special request for ongoing projects). All existing installations will continue to function and receive support until the End of Support date. After End of Support, no further updates or technical assistance will be provided. Supporting server infrastructure for BioStar 2 cloud-related services will continue under BioStar Remote Access policies as documented separately.


Migration to BioStar X is supported through a standard installer process. Customers must be updated to the latest BioStar 2 version prior to migrating.

End of Sale (EOS) BioStar 2 licenses will no longer be sold. March 31, 2026
End of Support (EOST) Final date of support, including security updates. March 31, 2029

BioStar 2 will continue to be supported—including critical security updates and assistance with upgrade/migration issues—until the End of Support date.
